Starting Fresh with Charcoal

It’s hard for me to actually take the time to go through rigorous skincare routines, but I do try to use a mask of some sort at least a couple times a month – usually on a Sunday. It’s like a fresh start to the week ahead. One of my favorites has been the Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask.
Before actually purchasing, I did a lot of research trying to figure out what other users were saying. Charcoal is known for drawing out impurities in the skin – acting almost like a magnet to dirt (lovely image, right?). There has been a lot of talk about various clay masks that cost a pretty penny. I wasn’t ready to take that plunge. When I saw that the Origins mask had two options (1.7 oz for $17.00 and 3.4 oz for $25.00) I thought it was a reasonable price for the amount of product.
I typically wash my face with warm water to open the pores.
Using my fingers, I cover my entire face with the mask being careful around the eye area.

Once the mask is fully applied, I let it do it’s thing for 10-15 minutes until is starts to dry. To remove, I have found that using a damp washcloth works best. I follow with my normal moisturizer. Not only does it feel great on the skin, but it also looks really attractive. Ha!

The Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask really does make my skin feel clear. I’ve had samples of higher priced masks that make similar claims, and I think this mask works just as well.
If you have oily skin that tends to hold onto dirt, I highly recommend giving this a try! What’s even better is that Origins makes this product without Parabens, Sulfates, and Sythetic Frangrances or dyes. I like knowing that it’s healthy for my skin.
